The ultra-high performance Vredestein Ultrac Vorti is a result of cooperation between Dutch manufacturers Vredestein and Italian automobile designer Guigiaro. While its sporty-looking asymmetrical tread might be the first thing that catches the eye, it's the tyre's performance values that are really important - and they doesn't disappoint. The Ultrac Vorti is among the safest tyres on the market, with a full silica tread compound and 4-radii contour that optimise its grip and handling. It features four broad longitudinal grooves for efficient drainage of water, while the flexible region in the middle of the tread guarantees excellent braking performance on wet streets and low rolling resistance.
The tread is designed in such a way that the rolling noise is barely perceptible. Alongside its regular 17- to 22-inch size range, a higher load version of the Ultrac Vorti exists and can be fitted to SUVs. Tested by ADAC in size 225/45 R17 W/Y in 2013, the tyre was a clear winner on dry tarmac and also impressed with its wet road performance and low rolling resistance. That same year, German magazine "Auto Motor Sport" tested a 225/40 R18 tyre on a Mercedes A 250 and found it to be the fastest candidate in its category.
