The Fulda Ecocontrol HP is a much-recommended summer tyre offering equally good driving behaviour in both wet and dry conditions. Dry roads are where the elliptical tyre contour and robust shoulder blocks demonstrate their strengths: they maximise the tyre's contact area with the road upon braking, giving the Ecocontrol HP a shorter dry braking distance than its competitor tyres, as proven in a 2011 test by German organisation TÜV. Thanks to its full silica tread compound and pronounced grooves for efficient diversion of water, the tyre exhibited the same superior braking performance in wet conditions.
To enable you to enjoy the excellent driving behaviour of the Fulda Ecocontrol HP for as long as possible, its rubber compound contains nanopolymers. Along with the harmonized distribution of ribs and grooves on the tread, these help to ensure that pressure is spread evenly over the entire contact area, resulting in even wear and a longer-lasting tyre. The low rolling resistance of the tyre is equally as effective as a money-saver: the tyre's relatively low weight and EcoTread tread design are successful in minimising energy losses and reducing fuel consumption.
An ADAC test in 2014 proclaimed the Fulda Ecocontrol HP to be a balanced tyre, free of weaknesses but with particularly strong performance in wet conditions. As British summers become increasingly characterised by wet and rainy weather, such credentials are of ever greater significance. The layer of water left behind by rainy weather is cut through easily by the Ecocontrol HP, minimising the risk of hydroplaning. The ADAC test also assigned the tyre a very commendable 1.8 with regard to its rate of wear. A test by German magazine "Autobild" in 2013 praised the tyre's favourable price, short braking distances on wet roads and long service life.
